I believe in the sunshine even when it can't be seen,
I know it still shines and will appear again to light the day.
I believe in the moon and the magic of the night sky,
I know the stars shine for me millions of miles away.

I believe in mother earth, her trees that sing in the wind,
I believe in the soft grass and the waters of the still lake.
I believe in the vast mountain reaching to the tip of the heavens,
And I believe in the rain and the raindrop, the snow and the snow flake.

I believe in the animals both real and from dreams and fairytales,
I learn more from them than I do most humans that I know.
The birds in the sky, the cat on my chair, the wolf in the forrest,
The bear in her den, the whale in the blue ocean deep below.

I do not believe in god, jesus or the holy ghost anymore,
I've seen enough religion to know that it is completely untrue.
I have never seen love through the practice of loving god,
It is a lie told by man to have power over people and what they do.

I believe in something so much bigger than god could ever represent,
And yet I am still trying to fully understand the power I have come to see.
The absolute truth my friends is what I am about to share with you,
As I am sure most of you already know what I speak of and you agree.

I don't call it a higher power because we are forever connected with "it",
I don't call it love because that's not a big enough word to describe "it".
Power isn't good enough because that is a selfish description for "it"
There really isn't a word that I can think of that would come close to fit.

There is no heaven and hell is here on earth if you want the truth,
And following a book written and rewritten 1,000 times isn't the way to go.
Look past the rules and the list of do's and dont's that men have set up,
Look deep within, see with the eyes of your spirit beyond the status quo.

Follow the universal law, this has been told by the profits since the dawning of the ages,
Treat your fellow man as you would want to be treated. These are words of gold.
Possessions are not what's important in life as they will not help you on this journey.
How we treat our fellow man are the tools needed to guide us down our road.

Money is paper, it holds no value and should not be our priority in our daily life,
But look at the shows on TV, the commercials and adds that tell you it should be.
Look at the man without any legs, begging on the street corner for your pocket change,
As you roll up your window, lock your door and watch the light till it turns green.

The message has been lost and most have setteled in and accepted things as they are,
What we don't know, what we don't see has no affect in our life day to day.
You have closed yourself off to the deeper meaning this life has to offer you,
You have become lost in the darkness of the material world, you have lost your way.

Be kind to others even if things aren't going your way at the time,
Smile at everyone you see even if you feel like crying on the inside
Ask someone how they are and genuinely listen to what they say
You are no more important than anyone else, time to swallow your pride.

This world is going nowhere fast and we will be gone sooner than later.
The earth will survive after we're gone, without question and without a doubt.
We are beings on this planet who've become completey crazed with power,
We have become a mistake which will not be repeated once we have wiped ourselves out.
